Amelia Naidoo (née Miner), MBA, BA,

Amelia has been working in the financial services industry with David Miner & Associates since 2006 and mutual fund licensed since 2007. Early in her career, she was also enrolled at the University of Toronto. She specialized in Political Science and completed a B.A. in 2012.

By design, Amelia took a 2.5 year sabbatical away from Team DMA to gain experience at John Hancock; the U.S. division of Manulife. Amelia worked with approximately 230 midsized companies across mainland U.S. and Puerto Rico to administer their defined contribution employee retirement plans.

With 401(k) and US pension administration experience, Amelia returned to David Miner & Associates in 2015 as an advisor and completed the life insurance qualifications to help round out client financial plans. In 2021, Amelia graduated from James Cook University, earning an MBA with distinction. With a curiosity and passion for learning, Amelia earned an RIS or ‘Responsible Investment Specialist’ credential in 2022.

In her free time, Amelia is an avid runner, favouring trails over concrete. She completed the Boston Marathon in 2014. She has also participated in numerous distance races in the GTA since 2006. Amelia is married to Kiran Naidoo CPA, CA. Today, they are proud parents to Nalina, born in 2016 and Maya, born 2018. As a family, they enjoy quality time together with their 80lb Goldendoodle, Scooby. In the winter months, you can find this truly Canuck family skiing, tobogganing, or ice skating outside.

Amelia believes in early financial literacy for all Canadians. She keeps her door open for young Canadians that are just starting in the work force – or even a part time job – and want to learn. She believes that early adoption of good money habits are just like early adoption of healthy eating habits. Invest and eat your vegetables, life will just be that much easier.
